ALBACORE from the turning basin in Morehead City to the Anchorage all the way to the Hook. We have never seen so many fish this early in the season before. If the weather holds we should have a repeat of years past with awesome catches on October and November. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Turning Basin is the no wake zone area around the morehead city state port. It's the area south and SW of the Morehead City Bridge.

And the ancorage is the area outside of Beaufort Inlet where ships awaiting dockage lay at anchor. This is approx 3-4miles offshore.

I am coming down Monday since the weather looks like it is settling in. Any suggestions on tides, times, flies. Also are the kings still on the beach?

Working the Redfish Cup this weekend, have no idea what is happening with the kings. The fly last week for the albys was a very small spoon that was eaten on the drop.

Fished the last 2 days with limited success. Yesterday there were fish from Pt Lookout to Drum Inlet that were VERRRRY picky, today the wind blew NE and scattered the fish. Thought I had the bait wired and brought my 7wt with a floating line and some gotchas. Really think it would have worked had the line not ended up in the prop on the first drift........
