View Full Version : Terrible Article in the NY Post

I just finished a article by Chris Bunting about Bonefishing in the BVI. He speaks about Bonefishing in Anegada. To quote the author "this practice does not jive well with my ecofacist/radical animal rights political streak." He speaks about stalking bonefish, and the "common" practice of "you catch 'em, kill 'em, discard 'em. Rinse (the fishguts off), repeat."
The article really paints fishing as barbaric and wasteful. I encourage you to read this piece, and if it moves you, fire a letter to the author and let him know that his experience is way outside the norm.
Tight lines,
Mike

Mike. I'd like to post it on my blog with your critique. Got a link?

What an idiot....(#$119) But, it's the Post, go figure. I wonder how Garfield Faulkner feels about that litany.

The article is absurd and I doubt most would give it any merit. It is almost entirely inaccurate down to Garfield's rate, which was $550.00 2 yrs. ago. Author reminds me a little of Ross from the tonight show.

I just read it quickly and it kind of looks like he is just narrating what he experienced.

Btw, I tried to get them bones by the ruins on the north of St. John USVI and they didn't even stop to smell my flies. Those bones I hear are well trained.

Now, in Nassau... that was another story.

Terribly written and inaccurate. Incidentally, better than the bonefishing on Anegada is the self-service bar off the main dock.

Tripe and trash, through and through. Obviously written to cater to the "LCD" (lowest common denominator).

As my dear 'ol Dad use to say, "I wouldn't wrap dead fish with the NY Post..."

I do not like his style as a writer or sportsman. The standards for that paper must be very low. The writer is most annoying. I look at bonefish as a treasure.

So WRITE to the sports editor and tell him what inacurate garbage this hack is publishing in their paper. The style is awful, but I guess that's what you get in the Post. Newspapers everywhere are in trouble and this guy got paid to fly to the Caribbean to bait fish for rays, probably didn't hook a bonefish at all, just needed to justify the expense report.
