Forecasts, once again, did not meet reality but I ventured out early Sunday morning. Fished the outgoing at Plum Gut and between the wind and tide, it was pretty bumpy. Not very fly friendly and pretty much all bluefish. Tiring of that routine, I headed over to Gardiners and saw very little. Saw a few birds working the north side of the island, but no albies. Had to leave early before the wind finally calmed down. I imagined it would have been a nice afternoon out there, but family duties called. Anything in the afternoon? Anything out at Montauk?

Had Jim Levison booked (note past tense) for tomorrow and Wed, but once again the wind is mucking up my plans.

Hopefully with these high water temps I'll get another shot before it's all over and I'm sitting by a fire dreaming of sight-fishing in May.......

had a big feed of big bass on adult bunker up off the NH coast Wed last week so I would venture to say things are a long way from being over for you...

I don't know about the albies, but I would guess that Montauk has several weeks of bass fishing left.

By the way, PhilD, I was out on Friday (big south winds forecast and they actually arrived in the afternoon), and the fishing was quite good. (I did, though, plant a couple of flies between my shoulders as a result of a crosswind.)
