My wife wants to go on another cruise in the spring. I noticed that several of them have fishing excursions now and one in Belize has a fly fishing trip. Anyone ever taken one of these trips from a cruise ship? I'm not expecting much, but it's better than shopping.

I went on my first cruise and hopefully my last about a year ago. Managed to get out of them for over 50 years. I didn't use fishing excursions arranged by the cruise ship but did manage to get in some fishing. I checked the places we would stop, found a good guide for those sites and arranged through them to take me fishing. One met me at the ship and the other met me at a local hotel. If you do it that way you atleast have a pretty good idea of what you will be in for. I couldn't trust a cruise ship concierge to find me a fishing guide.

Thanks. That's what I thought.

Last year we took a cruise out of San Juan. Friend booked a morning charter in the lagoons around the airport. Good tarpon and snook fishing. Google on quicksilver dot com.

If you are catching the cruise in PR and can go down a day early this is a good take before boarding the ship in the afternoon.

BTW I agree with swalt on cruises but think of it as building up points and choose a favorite bar to hang out in on the ship.
