I have the "opportunity" to spend Monday and Tuesday in scenic Islandia; via the Orient Pt ferry on Sunday PM.
Suggestions on a cooks tour of the north fork or central L.I. welcome.
I'll be the one with the World Champions sweatshirt :)

Not going to get much feedback with that sweatshirt in question.
This Met fan, loves the fact Beantown won but others might not be so kind.
You need to get more specific on what you want to do around here and where you'll be staying. Looking for fish or fancy dining?

I wouldn't worry too much about the jersey. I grew up on LI and I didn't even know there was a rivalry between NYY and the Sox before I flew north. Yankee fans don't care who they beat, they just want to win and we're over due for a championship. Congrats on a great season by your Bosox.
Eastern and Central LI. The vineyards should still be open and there are numerous ones on the north fork so I'd check in to that. If you want to sneak around the corner to the south fork you'll find some outstanding restaurants along Rt 27 and some very nice historic towns. Fire Island beaches are nice as well.
Obviously for saltwater fishing Montauk point speaks for itself. But there is also some good freshwater fishing as well albeit the best are pay fisheries. The Carmins River in Yaphank is a nice spring creek that will challenge your skills. when I was a kid, Yaphank Lake was a great bass fishery. Further west you nave the Connequot and Nissequogue Rivers. Both are pay fisheries and spring creeks. They're like going to trout school.
