Now THAT is a crappy inshore forecast! When I saw that forecast, I figured that the offshore one would be awful, and boy, it is AWFUL:
*Gulf of Maine to Hague Line*
Sat
NE winds 35 to 45 kt...except se portion to 45 to 55 kt...increasing to N 45 to 55 kt...except se portion 55 to 70 kt. Seas building to 14 to 22 ft...except se portion to 29 ft. Showers and tstms.
Sat Night
N winds 45 to 55 kt early...except se portion 55 to 65 kt...diminishing to NW 30 to 40 kt throughout late. Seas subsiding to 10 to 15 ft...except E portion 15 to 19 ft...highest E.
Those are some of the biggest wind and wave forecasts I have seen in a couple years.
:-%Should we be throwing topwater or jigs?:-%

Never seen them forecast the waves to get that big so quick, not that I remember. Glad we hauled out when we did, I will tell you that much! Hope they are right, big waves are sweet.

If we really get pounded hard by this, it may be the end of tuna season, at least off Maine and NH...and probably MA. Depends though how hard we actually get hit. Hurricanes always mess things up (sometimes for the better but not in November). Hope you guys got your fishing in while you had the chance! There is always the chance that it wont hit as hard as they are saying, though.

Sure ... maybe we can miss it by heading out to the Flemish Cap.
Looks like a Perfect Storm.

the good news is think how easy it would be to jig in those conditions...just hold the rod over the side and you'd get 15 - 20' of vertical movement every few seconds...
