My fiance and I have decided to elope rather than spend tens of thousands of dollars on a wedding. We're thinking of going to a resort on St Kitts. We'd be there for 8 days in the beginning of February.

Has anyone been to St Kitts? Does anyone have any idea what might be biting that time of year? Does anyone know a guide they might reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

I've been to both, Nevis and St Kitts and explored all the fishing opportunities there, and there simply aren't any. Like all southern Caribbean islands their inshore waters are hopelessly overfished.
My wife booked me an expensive offshore charter out of the Four Seasons where we were staying, and it was a complete waste of time. 3 Rasta types show up in a beautiful offshore boat, and all we caught after a full day of fishing was a couple jacks, and 2 10lb barracuda.
However, the rain forest on both Nevis and St Kitts is spectacular and shouldn't be missed. You'll need to hire a guide, and bring good hiking shoes, and it's a 1/2 day climb to the top. A great hike, and watch out for the vervet monkeys. They're a PIA.
