we didn't find the fish till 11 and went 2 for 5 between then and 2:30 when we headed for the barn.

We lost a good fish to a lobster pot after 30 minutes.

All bites were on meat; 4 ballyhoo and one rigged squid. Fish were visible all PM once we found them; nothing smaller than 4' and some 6-8 footers in the mix.

I'm not posting location, but will respond w. more details privately.

I am heading out to Stellwagen (NWC) tomorrow, to make one last go at it.

Given the time of year, I don't want to screw around too much. I am open to any advice as to what you think they will hit.

We have live mackerel, lots of jigs, light tackle, and plenty of trolling equipment.

Lets hear from those that have gotten some bites in the last week or so.

If you see any fish up on top, get upwind and drift down toward them, blindcasting with poppers. This should work. A buddy was out yesterday and couldnt get them to hit the bars but took some nice fish on casting gear...

not an obvious name brand?

If so he was targetting the same pod I was aiming at and was 200 yards further out when he pulled up and stopped which confused us.

We hooked up going by the fish and I believe he was hooked up as we were fighting ours - didn't put 2 and 2 together and realize he was casting not trolling....
