Fishing here is Southwest florida this past week has been excellent. Wade fishing in the afternoons during the incoming tide. Warm water wet wading with the fly rod, in the fall is good solid fun and a great way to get close to the Snook and Reds. We picked up several Reds this afternoon fly fishing the sand bars along the edge of Charlotte Harbor. It looks like it is going to be a good year for Reds based on the numbers of fish that are around right now....
The fly of choice was a small shrimp pattern that I have been tying with the Steve Farrar's shrimp colored blend with orange estaz on the front with a gold cone head. These little shrimp flies can be tied in a matter of seconds and work great !!!
