I am headed to Nassua for a firm business "retreat" from Nov-30 to Dec 2. Not arriving till friday evening, and meetings sat am from 8am-2pm, unsure of return flight time on sunday- Now, is it even worth thinking of trying to fish while I am down there given sunday am is prob my best bet? species? won't have any gear. Group is staying at Atlantis. Any decent guides nearby? What will I expect to pay for roughly 1/2 day?

On New Providence you will find bonefish and few tarpon on the south side of the island. South West Bay/South Beach. Offshore (North East Providence Channel) is the way to go while on New Providence. Look to catch 20lb Dorado or Wahoo. $400 half day cost—out of Nassau Harbour!

Kick back and enjoy the sand and rum, and do not waste your money IMHO if you were on GBI that's different...take the money you have saved and buy an Accurate 270 two speed...also if you are paying for the booze...beer bahamian Kalik as for distilled...go to the store at the airport grab rum...first time I went to the islands a long time ago my bar bill was more than the room...at atlantis check out the price for a served coke.

Yeah-
I definitely don't want to force anything. My wife told me to just chill out and enjoy the beach. I might do just that.

Hey Tarpon41 ... something I was not aware of! When did--paying to go fishing become a “waste of money” (?) I always considered it great fun!

You mean you have never wasted money on an island (any island) fly fishing guide? I have bout 30 years ago but not now...as for blue water out of Parad/Island/Atlantis half day is going to be the north autec buoy for 600-800 that's a waste unless you are really flush... as for flats for 350-400 for a half on new prov that's money to burn...most fishing out of new providence is a waste compared to the rest ...if a full day of blue water @ 1200-1600 then most likely going to run to the berrys or 2/3 down toto...it is not a good place. and it definitely IMHO ain't a 1/2day place unless you are really flush...
All the above is irrelevant if it ain't your after tax dollars but that of those who wish to entertain you...I never look a gift horse in the mouth...whether it's hatchery trout outside Vegas or pen raised pheasants outside Chicago.
