Made it out yesterday(Wed.) for a few hours. We bounced around and scraped up two dozen schoolies, but it was work. Today was a different story! I had a window of opportunity and took advantage of it. Darted out for a quick solo mission in the rain and it was a blast! Left at 1 and was back before 3. First half hour, only one fish for my efforts, but then took a peek under a few birds. The birds dispersed after a couple dives, but the bass hung around! Drop and reel fishing for 40+ schoolies! Left them biting- had to be in by 3. Jig em up- those little guys are great on light tackle!

Fished the harbor with my father between 10 and 2. Bounced around inside for a few, then went to head outside. Before we made it outside, we hit the mother load! Drift after drift of outrageous schoolie action up to 27." My father was rigged with a teaser and had at least a dozen doubles, hell of a battle on light tackle! Snow squalls, numb fingers, and drop and reel action! I was sticking my hand in the 43 degree water to warm them up! Today was probably the best action we've had yet this year and we have had some unbelievable days. Does anyone know what was up with all the draggers today inside the harbor? There were at least a half dozen working between the jersey flats and the main channel, running S to N. Saw them on the way out and they were still there on the way in. Get out there and take advantage of these calm conditions!

Fished between the channels this afternoon with one flyrod guy. He had about a dozen schoolies & then we jigged up another bunch quick before heading in at sunset. Great day!
