Some very nice fish!
Do you ever catch any smaller/medium sized fish? The average Biscayne bonefish must be huge.
Im going to fish there with Kelly in February, if we manage to figure things out. Maybe I should join you for a couple of days as well, and help you take those pictures :brow :brow
Do you place the cam in your yak and use the timer function?

those 2 above are the smaller fish...I would say the average is about 8 to 9 lbs but I have stumbled on a 6.5-7lber before...harder to catch one like that than a 10lber...that one last week was over 11lbs...I use a canoe and pushpole and yes I do my best to balance the camera on top of my milkcrate with the timer...doesnt take much chop to ruin everything though...you just gave me an idea

Nice fish, all of them. those biscayne monsters are they generally singles cruising? Thats not a easy trick. I need to add the electric dred to my A list.

Post more.

mostly the 10lbers and up will be singles or dbl's...once in a while I will see a school of monsters so big it takes a moment to make sure they aint tarpon or permit...I use only 2 flys for bones but also will get them on Merkins by accident....Clousers ad Electric Dreads...85% on Dreads and 15% on Clousers in the winter when cold

Good to see you back on line. I'll have a good number of dread shrimp when I return South in January. I'm going to give it a try once more, just as soon as I do a bit of repair on the skiff--a littlle fiberglass work on the deck. It should only take a couple of days.. I did well on three salmon trips this year and pretty good on bird hunting, but now I need to focus on the Bay___hopefully BONES.

Those bones are pigs! I'm in town visiting family in Palmetto Bay from Canada - taking a break from sub-zero steelheadin' - and have done a bit of wading the flats. Waded a local flat the other night just before the cold front and managed to take a few shots at tailing bones, with no luck.

I'm here until Sunday and am hoping to get another shot or two before I head back North...any thoughts on when the fish might move back in range of wadeable flats (don't have a boat or kayak)? Also would love to get a shot at a tarpon or two if you have any suggestions.

I'll also be sure to tie up a few electric dreads before my next trip down.

I would fish where you seen them...there are a few places to wade...to me the best accessable spot is Mathesson Hammock for wading..accessability is the key...I do know of several spots but saving them for customers, sorry...weather now should remind you of steelheading--124-3...will be warm again next week...as far as tarpon I would go for fresh water tarpon right now...there are several spots around miami/Homestead that have them or head towards Naples area and fish the canals

gave the bones a good pounding today...was great to do in febuary...as far as I'm concerned bonefish season starts in mid March...sadly my pictures were even worse than ever because of deep water and soft bottom

Wow! All really great stuff...I'm still anxiously waiting for my 1st bone over 10# in the Bahamas. I'm dying to check out Biscayne now. After my shoulder heals up from rotator cuff surgery I'll be headed down to Miami, any recomendations on guides or DIY? Thx.
