After several trip w/ high wind & low temperature we finally got a break in the weather &t he fishing
Left the dock at 7:00 AM & were into Bass before 7:30. Double & triple-header were the normal. What the bass lacked in size they made up in quantity. The fly rod produced a fish almost ever cast. These Fish were small schoolies 18 -22 inches and just south of Norton Point after an hour or so we moved looking to find larger fish. We found them a south- west of Jetty. The drift was very fast but the fishing was extraordinarily. We drifted with them for miles over the next 2 hours. Most fish were 24- 26 inches and although keepers were rare, we did manage a few. The two largest were 34 inches approx 15 lbs & the 2nd over 36 inches both on the Fly. We ended the day well offshore about 2:00 PM w/ acres of Birds & breaking bass around the boat & the sun finally out. We left them biting. --127-3-
Bonus for most of the day boat traffic was almost non-existence.
May try to get on Monday & Wednesday
