After Saturday, tremendous Fishing I was hoping to repeat it on Monday.
Due to morning Fog & Auto repair issues got a very late start. While I was on my way to the boat yard, I did see birds working under the Vezz Bridge near the Brooklyn Stanchion but by 11:00 AM, they were gone. Therefore, I headed off to Coney Island & found a beautiful Flat Grey Sea & Overcast Sky & Frosty Temperature. Great Ocean flat calm w/ just a gentle ripple on the surfaces but it was absolutely devoid of any life. No Birds, Bait or Bass. Checked out Coney Island (Nada) Off to Breeze Point (NADA) than out to Ambrose Channel Buoy #2 found a small flurry of Birds that produced two small bass 16 inches & that was it. Than ran off to the Head of Ambrose Channel with unlimited visibility in all directions could not see any Boats or Birds anywhere on the horizon. Well is was back to the Barn for me. I ran along red side of Ambrose Channel still looking for fish but found none
May be out again Wednesday weather permitting.
Saturday Windy & change w/ Snow Looks like the end is near--124-3
Weeks Fuel 70 gallon $ 248 :eek:ouch!!!

itsmoderating, sorry to hear the bait and fish were hiding on you! That's what makes this addiction of ours so nerve racking. You NEVER know what kind of day you will have when you leave the dock. I think this challenge keeps us going and going!!! It's just mind blowing how 1 day makes such a difference, when Sunday it was harder NOT to catch a fish then it was to reel in empty handed! Keep trying

Just because there are no birds doesn't mean there aren't any fish there. That is one of those spots that usually deserves a look anyway. Made it out today for about 2 hours. Some birds for awhile with great action until the water stopped moving. Picked a few thru the slack til we had some movement then they started turning on again, but I had to go. Chrystal clear water- you could actually see them hit about 8 ft. down! Water temp up a bit- 44 to 45 while friday was 42 to 43. Keep at it, you'll get em!
