I have a 19' Key West and the trailer seems to be a little too small. The boat hangs over by about 2'.

I just got a quote from Monahans for $2,200 for a new EZLoader (or Loadrite?).

I trailer the boat to fish.

Any thoughts/ideas on new/used trailer options?

Thx,

Dom

1) Bunks or rollers?

2) Can the bow support move forward a foot or so? I'd be of the opinion that a foot hanging off the end of the bunk or roller would be 'OK'.

3) Call Key West and ask them. The size might just be OK for you, you may only need to do some fitting to fine-tune the trailer to your hull.

Most important is the weight capacity of the trailer, any length concern, and then the overall setup of the trailer (to avoid swaying). You need to know your tongue weight, which should be approximately 10% of the total weight of both boat, gear, and trailer itself being towed.

4) Here are a few sites that tell you how to check your tongue weight using a bathroom scale:
