My boyfriend is an avid fisherman. We live in Texas so normally we go to Mexico, Florida, etc. for vacation so we can rent a boat and go fishing.

I thought I had a great idea to surprise him with a trip to the Turks & Caicos. What could be better than clear water, sandy beaches, bonefish, tuna, wahoo and marlin for Christmas?! Every fisherman's dream, right??

Well, now I'm in trouble because I can't find anyone that rents boats. I did find one place that rents skiffs. The guides are outrageous for a short run off-shore (and from what I've read they don't seem very helpful either). Does anyone know of somewhere or someone I can rent a suitable off-shore boat from?

I'm also looking from some good spots to take him bonefishing on Christmas.

Thank you for any advice in advance. I will never pick out a place for vacation again without looking for boat rentals first. :)

I'm assuming your going to be staying in Provo?
Search some of the other posts on TCI. If you look around i'm sure you'll be able to find someplace to rent a boat. Certainly not a fishing boat, but probably something to get you out and to a flat....
PM me and i'll be able to give you more information/email to help you out... can you get my girlfriend to double up on this gift idea???!?

turks & caicos is very difficult. the guides are well organised and extremely expensive and the requirement to have one is strictly enforced. if you have the time to reschedule, consider other venues in the bahamas.

the Turks and Caicos are BEAUTIFUL!!!!
nicest beaches that i have seen in a LONG Time!
i go in June for the Caicos Classic Tournament :)

i do have friends over there and i do know there are a few rental places where you can rent small skiffs for fishing....the guides are VERY expensive and not really needed. there are some places you can fish for bonefish by wade fishing that you can drive up to. all you need is a T&C fishing license that you can get at the marina offices.

if you want to do it up first class, catch the puddle jumper over to South Caicos and go out with Beyond the Blue charters. Bibo will get you on tons of small fish in ultra skinny water :)

email me if you want me to make a few phone calls and emails on your behalf to friends over there and get you hooked up.
