This board has been quiet, 2007 was dead (no help from me), and we used to have this thing cranking.... so... Here goes....
Here is my planed format back by popular demand....
1. I will host 2 a month through April.
2. All will have a theme of some sort. Themes will be chosen via poll in the coming months, a month ahead of time by you all except for the first month. Polls will be open for 10 days or so.
3. All will run for 1 month's time to be delivered by the 15th of the next month. This is the format I have used in the past if any remember.
4. I will post 2 sign up threads at the start of each month, or a few days early, then post a follow up closed thread.
5. After the swap is sent out I will also post a picture thread of all flies in the swap.
6. It would be great if guys added in a return adressed envelope. Makes it easier for me. If not, no added money for shipping is needed. I like doing it.
7. Experience does not matter. Some of the best flies I have ever recieved were from guys and gals who said they couldn't tie a shoelace!!! Remember, the fish don't care, only snobby fly tiers!
Some tips from comercial tiers... don't try to tie all 12 all at once!! Do a couple a day and set it down to come back to it. The overall quality will be much better. Also, tie 15 or so, then select the best 12. You will be happier with the result. Also, if you tie in an assembly line fasion for flies that have many steps the quality is better, and faster.
I have found in the past that the more structured this format is for multiple swaps running concurrently the easier it is for people to follow and participate. So here goes.... kickin off 2008!!:brow
