It's a working weekend for me and having not gotten out last weekend I could not pass up the great morning conditions to be out on the ice. I measured about 8" of the stuff with the top inch a bit soft but in the process of hardening. I have not done well in my earlier trips so found it promising when I got my first flag as I was setting my third tip-up. While not a great morning it did turn out to be my best outing of the season. No double flags but decent action in the morning than things slowed down. Just as I was picking up I got a couple parting shots in. Tally was a few bass in the 2# ballpark, a couple barely legal sized pickeral, a crappie and a decent sized perch (for A1 that is)
A1 was not crowded, I thought it might be due to the Marlboro Show, someone else mentioned a big tournament in Rutland.

Pickeral have a size limit? Not that I'd ever keep one - but I thought they were one of those undesirable fish that only I liked to catch--125-3

Pickeral need to be 15". A lot of bone to deal with at that size.

good to know there is some thick ice around after that warm spell.
with the weather over the last few days it should be adding up!
