Hit Lake Chauncy after work on Wednesday with a few shiners I had left over from the weekend. Drilled five holes and dropped the bait down the first hole, turned around and the flag was up with a fish running. Overreacted and set the hook too quickly - bait and fish gone.
Later as I sat at the opposite end of the line of tip ups, the first flag went up again and as I walked to it the middle flag went up. Set the hook on something pretty solid at the first hole only to have knot failure between the leader and the running line. Back to the middle hole and there was a 13=15 inch pickeral. Now I had only three tip ups in the water and was taking turns jigging the open holes. One hole did produce a small perch. Bait stolen and I was down to only two. Shortly after sunset I has one more flag which produced a nice slab of a crappie. Not a bad outing for only two hours.
