The last couple days have been a whirlwind of different species. In some cases it is hard to drive from point A to point B without seeing schools of small bait getting harassed by the spanish, blues, and trout. We fished around some structure to finish out the afternoon yesterday and caught some really nice gag groupers. These fish pull really hard on light tackle and would be a blast on fly. The mainstay however has been the great shallow water redfishing we have seen around these parts this winter. The Reds continue to surprise us and have been willing to eat in the middle of the day which is great for sight casting with the light spinning rods and the soft plastics. Morning is the time to throw the fly.
