Thanks guys for the help but what I didn't mentoin was that i am interested in a spinning rod for the steelheads.

I like the 9'6" St Croix Avid rated for 1/8 - 5/8 oz and the 10'6" St Croix Wild River noodle rod.

If price is an issue there are plenty of inexpensive 10'6" noodle rods that are very capable.
