Hi,

I'm planning on adding some tunes to my rig before the season. I'm looking at the Jensen MSR2007 which is supposed to have a waterproof "(IPX6 rated)" head unit to mount on the console and a remote unit which I guess has the guts of the unit. Has anyone heard one of these? Any comments? I'm looking for a unit that I can plug an ipod into and not have to bring CDs on board. I think I will match it up with four JBL MS6100 speakers.

Although I plan on adding music to the boat, there's a lot of times I'm on the water and just want to hear the wind and the water too. How annoying is it to be fishing on the flats and having someone come by with their music on?

Jensen doesn't have the best reputation for salt water applications.

On the contrary, Poly Planar and Aquatic AV enjoy stellar reputations...I can vouch for the Aquatic AV AQ-CD-1 personally. It was installed out in the open on my console and has been drenched almost every trip for 2 seasons and hasn't missed a beat.

It (or the Poly Planar head unit) doesn't have a jack suitable for MP3/iPod but you can add one of these:

and be off to the races.
