2-day fishing & a day at the Miami Boat show
First the Boat show saw the new 300 HP E-Tec & new 350 Mercury Verado unveiled & to many mega yachts to count. Interesting how they market a 60 ft plus boat as fuel efficient its cruises 33 Knots burning only 140 gallon per hr & W.O.T. 44+ Kts only 200 gal per hr
Fuel prices at one Marine in Miami :
Gas $5.15 :eek:
Diesel $ 4.25 --124-3
Bulk Diesel Truck delivery $3.25 --124-3
With Prices excepted to rise looks like I'll be rowing

Now the fishing.
A days drifting in shore in 175 ft of water w/ live goggle eyes did not produced a single hit.

Day 2
Offshore trolled in the Gulf Stream in area called the Hollywood Hills due to the bottom configuration for 6 hours with out a strike not even a dolphin. No sea grass either I was told it’s being harvested for cattle feed without the grass no bait - no dolphins. Only sea-life seen all day was a single flying fish
In general fishing has been very poor for weeks due little or no bait

Sea conditions in the gulf steam 2-4 ft Water Clarity Crystal clear & green water Water Temp 80 degrees in February

Geeze Itsmoderating, you could have trolled NY Harbor this time of the year with more action! Sorry to hear fishing trip was a dud! Just did all new wheel hubs, bearing, and tires on trailer-- Getting ready! 140 gallons X $5.15 = $721 per Hour at Wide Open Throttle!

I think it's 200 gph at WOT...or about a grand an hour. Like they say, if you have to ask how much....
