Looking for a new pond to fish this weekend. I have been fishing a few of the Ponds in the Forest in Ancover with mixed results but am looking for a change of scenery.

Thanks

The olny two pieces of fresh water needed to fish on the north shore - Pillings Pond and Suntaug Lake. End of story. ;)

Saw that one coming a mile away. Stop by LHOP for Lunch and then Bali Hai for cocktails?

You could probably watch you tip ups from the lounge at the Bali Hai....what could be better!

What is the access like at these ponds? Can you put a tin boat in?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Nelly's being a smarta$$. We grew up near those ponds. Pillings Pond main strength is the ice Hockey. Its not worth even bothering there. Its too shallow, and overgrown. Its pretty gross. You are not allowed to fish on Suntaug although we did as kids, but the Lynnfield Police are bored and usually pretty quick to ask you to leave. No Boats, No fishing from shore, nada. So I imagine there are some nice pretty nice fish. Access is tough, as it is mostly private. You could park behind Bali Hai, but again you would be asked to leave.

Good Luck.

Sluice Pond in Lynn is stocked year round.

There is a boat ramp adjacent to Briarcliff Lodge, a city owned adult day car facility at the northeast end of Sluice Pond off Lynnfield Street.

I read they put broodstock Atlantics into Pleasant Pond in Wenham, though as I write this I think I'd wait for ice out rather than risk a swim...
