Hi all. Names Tom. I just moved to Sou'east MA in Seekon/Rehoboth area. Came from SoCo RI. I've been salt fishing since I was a kid. I'm only 38 so that makes me still a beginner.
I just started fly fishing in the salt rivers in the Barrington/Warren area three years ago. I havent picked up a spin or conventiona rod since! I use a 10wt and an 8wt for the spring. I AM HOOKED! lol
I do have two questions for the panel.
I do see a lot of posts for the Coles when it comes to stripers. Which is also near me. I just picked up a 4wt set up from Cabelas on the clearance section. Good buy I think. It's their prestige rod with a reel/rod case for 40 bucks. Couldn't pass it up. So I wanted to try some trout fishing.
I noticed that the state stocks Coles BROOK. Is it decent fishin when stocked? Or should I not bother and just stay in the salt. Also windering if other areas sticked in the area are worth looking for trout.
Also wondering if there is any decent trout fishing in the Soe'east MA area. I do live near the Palmer which I learned is not like it used to be. But I also learned there is a rebuilt fish ladder project. Any thoughts?
Sry for the long post. Hope to meet some new buds. here.
Oh I also duck hunt and would be very happy to take someone out who wants to learn. (Or trade fishin/duck spots) lol
Thanks , ALSO I am not a spot burner! So if I am braking any rules feel free to PM and/or slap my wrist! Thanks and hope to meet some new buds

First Tom welcome to the board, .... While I don't trout fish the Coles there are a few stocked areas I have fished. I say fish it if it/s convenient. It may be a bit crowded after the stockings. Might even find a find a few spots that hold ducks when local ponds freeze over.

There's trout in the Palmer river; I've caught some nice browns there. Can't tell you exactly where for obvious reasons.;). Just take some time, poke around in likely locations. Try the general area around Rehoboth.
