Gald I upgraded from my old carb, Johnson outboard ( 1.3 MPG ) to a fuel efficient Evinrude E-Tec ( 3 MPG ) Those 100 mile seek and distroy days will be a thing of the past!--124-3

In the process of selling my boat....a 37 foot topaz. Once it was considered to be a fuel efficient twin diesel boat because it was considered a "mid" size offshore sport fisherman. The usual canyon run out of Montauk took about 225 gallons back and forth. In the old days with diesel being 1.30 per gallon the days fishing cost under $300.00. And I am not talking about 20 years ago.....but less than 10 years ago.

Now that same trip @ approx $4.00 per gallon is pushing a grand. Unbelievable. I can only imagine what the bills are like on a 50 foot viking. Should be at least 2k for the same trip.

Best get a single diesel 32 footer for the trip. Its the only way to get back to $300.
