A couple years ago, while at school in NH I picked up fly-fishing...endless opportunities up there. I'm graduated now and know nothing about what the waters in my area (Southeastern Mass) have to offer as far as fly fishing for trout (cape cod excluded). I want to start fly fishing again but I don't know where. Any suggestions?

Here's a list of the stocked trout waters in SE Mass:

This was the 2007 list. A lot of the fishing is put-and-take because the water warms up in the summer. Call the state Division of Fish and Wildlife for stocking dates. They may not tell you where they're going next, but they will tell you where they've just been.

On the south shore there are plenty of great spots to wet a fly for trout. The indian head river in Pembroke/Hanover is fun in the spring, small river, you can easily cast across it, stocked in the spring with brookies and browns, also further up stream in Hanover/Hanson stocked with rainbows. Also, Plymouth has a dozen ponds or so stocked as well, town brook right in Plymouth center is also stocked, and is easy to fish with a fly. Lout pond in a float tube or kayak/canoe, Long pond, Little pond, Fresh pond, the list goes on.
