However, considering the cape has just been stocked, those fish would be considerably easier to catch than the 20 size midges we would be throwing to fish in the swift.

Any chance you want to team up and fish some water tomorrow? I can wade as far as you can. (I am up in Salem MA, but will drive down to meet you on the river /pond for 8 ish)

Call me if you want (your inbox has my phone #)

The water under the Rt. 9 bridge was high last Thursday, so I was glad I hadn't brought any fishing gear, otherwise I might have been tempted. It was a beautiful day, yet there were no cars parking in the normal fishermans' lot, which tells you something.

Why was I going by the Swift without fishing gear? I drove all the way out there to fight a speeding ticket I got on Rt. 9 in Ware back on 11/14/07 when I last fished the Swift. 102 miles each way. Nice.--124-3

Was it worth it?

Yes. The district court in Belchertown lost my citation, so while my name somehow was on the docket for a hearing, the town of Ware had no evidence, so the magistrate had no choice but to dismiss the case. I had a copy of the ticket in my pocket but decided it might not be very smart to offer it to the court, self incrimination and all that. Finally this state's inefficiency and ineptitude paid off for me.:)--127-3-

If you go out there, be careful because there are speed traps all over the place, and they love to nail out-of-towners. Until casino gambling is legalized and starts boosting their revenue, issuing traffic citations seems to be a principal way that they raise revenue. Tickets are $10 per mph over the speed limit plus a flat fee of $50, plus loss of the good driver's discount with the insurance company, or about another $70 per year for SIX years, for a grand total of over $500 for going 3 mph over the limit. Talk about the punishment not fitting the crime!!!
