Profile Lake in Franconia is great and wadable, with lots of brook trout.
Sky Pond 20 minutes outside of Meredith is good with rainbows and browns and is wadable.
The Pemigewasette (pardon the misspelling) near the Kangamangas (pardon the misspelling again) Highway has cabins and great flyfishing near the road and by/under the bridge over the river, depending on whether it's been recently stocked. You'll know immediately if the trout are there with a quick few casts of a # 16 irresistable or humpy. If there, the trout will smack it immediately.
Have fun!:)
P.S. CORRECTION: Sky Pond does not have browns. I meant to say brook trout (as well as rainbows).

Wyman Lake (impoundment on the Kennebec) in the Bingham / Moscow area of Maine has good fishing. You can fish moving or still water for warm and cold water species.
Good luck.

Lake Dunmore in VT is a great all around trout/salmon/bass/pike spot along with half a dozen trout streams within half an hour for some wading.

k thanks for the usefull information guys.
ive checked up on all of your spots and they all look good. i might go to the saco river or look for more spots in maine. im trying to find places where there wont be alot of people. that way the fish will be wild, harder to catch and bigger. if you have any other ideas id welcome your knowledge.

I used to guide in N. Conway and know a bunch of places with wild fish. They are not big but are plentiful. If your bringing kids there are small streams that only need to be plied with a big elk hair. Being sneaky and dapping flies will catch fish in these rivers like the ellis and others. The Saco has good hatches during this time saco spinners and saco caddis. Don't be fooled though the water running through n. conway is gin clear and despite the fact that a lot of the fish are stocked they can be tricky. Evening spinner falls on the Saco are some of my greatest memories. Conway Lake is usually really hot at this time of year and is a sometimes overlooked small mouth fishery. Five or six weights and small sliders like sneeky petes are wicked there. Call N. Country Angler for specifics on the hatches in June. I guide in Utah now and haven't been back for some time now almost seven years--124-3 If you would like some specifics on the small rivers PM me.
Sincerely

There's a big difference between the end of June and the third week in August. When you actually go would dictate where I would recommend. August is tough almost every where so you have to look for bottom release tail waters or streams that have tricos. Northern NH is good because you have the upper Conn River which runs cool and all the lakes in Northern NH and VT.
Third week in June you'd be safe just about anywhere in NE.

MAINE- at least at the end of June- why would you go anywhere else?
Wilson's on Moosehead Lake- on the East Outlet ( headwaters of the Kennebec- terrific time to be there) Moose River is 20 minutes away, Roach River 30 min, West Branch of the Penobscot is about an hour. Great salmon, brook trout and bass in Indian Pond ( lower end of the EO) are outrageous.
Call Scott and Allison at Wilson's and they'll take care of you.:-%

I will be headed to Moosehead/Rockwood Me.. Also Jackman/Moose River areas. Long Pond Camps are 30 a night right on LongPond just outside of Jackman. Plus so many smaller ponds throughout the area. I may even try the Allagash and Chesuncook Lake House on Chesuncook, North East of Moosehead.

i think im going to moosehead. i found a place for 450 a week and its in lambs cove which i know there is good fishing near by, by boat. i am also looking at a cabin in sandy bay, does anyone know of any good spots by boat or land near either of those locations?
As I recall, there used to be one or two guys you could charter with up there; I did it a while ago. There's lot of lakers up there; in fact, recently there may be too many.
Also salmon and brook trout.
