it looks like this week and weekend are a blowout...--124-3 but here are a few shots of last week....it was a mostly blues and schoolies day; but I did see albies on the fringes....looks like a good week to fish the bays at night:brow

Great Shots. I'm looking at them in Canada on the Gaspe Peninsula where the atlantic salmon fishing has come to the end of the season. Nice to see you guys getting nice action. I am sure that it will get even better after the blow. That's usually the case as it is still early in the season.

I sure hope so. No end in sight to this big NE wind.

After it blows for a week, you will see more fish after the prevailing winds take over and the bait builds into its normal fall pattern. That is my prediction. It has only started and this is a brief interruption. Many albies still off MV and the Cape. They will be off Montauk in early October......and more much more hungry.

I'll be there Oct. 1st thru the 7th... Hope it keeps going like that... Tying flies like crazy.. Bangers and Surf candies today, Deceivers and jiggies tomorrow, already have a sizable amount, but figure overstocking is a good idea...

What Patterns are effective there right now?????

Thanks,

White/pink albie whore. And you're smart to tie lots. Bluefish took about 12 of mine last week.

Weather is supposed to start calming down on Sunday. I would cross my fingers and pray that this is true but it's too hard to tie flies like that.

Dean,

I really need it to calm down as boat fishing every day, and cannot bring enough equipment for shore fishing as well:brow

Weather permitting, will be out there in a 23' parker centre console with a green hull....give us a hoot if you spot us:)

The Albie Whore fly is normally tied with the aid of hot melt glue, securing the hackle and flash to the body, but as this is a bit messy, and unsightly (although I'm sure the fish don't mind) I use tuffleye which is very quick and easy to apply and finish off, gives a neater overall appearance, and actually speeds up the whole tying process somewhat.
