Looks like I will be taking adavantage of friend that can shrink wrap my boat for me. I just need to build the frame prior to my arrival. I've eyed a few in boat yards, but was curious to if anyone had any suggestions or guidlines? My boat is a 20' CC, without a T-Top. I am starting from scratch, any ideas? Thanks

thought about this myself a bit, and haven't moved past the brainstorm stage, but instead of using wood, I've thought about building something out of PVC....
this is pretty impressive:

FWIW here’s a few more pictures of PVC framework and they show an even simpler frame design (using 1.5” pipe for rigidity) than my original idea …

Note the rubber hose that was slit and used to prevent the pipe from wearing on the frp layup.

While those pvc frams are impressive and probably necessary if you're going to use a tarp....I think something much simpler would be find for shrinkwrap.
A single upright 2-4 secured centered by the console and maybe another in the forward section should be sufficient. Then use cheap strapping material for the center line bow to stern secured to the uprights.
That's all the shops do. Put carpet or something soft under between the upright and floor to prevent scuffing.
When my son had access to the shrink wrap stuff...that's how we did my grady 208....heck...I even did the frame myself....and I'm all thumbs!

You got that right ;) !
Good point about the 'light' frames when shrink-wrapping ... but a benefit I see to using a PVC frame is that it is RE-USABLE from year to year (if not left out in the sun). Fast, simple ... and please think green ;) !

Hey Dale I just noticed your trailer wheels. What are they made of and how do they hold us to the salt? Hmm.....

That's not my boat or trailer as listed in the photo above on this post, so I have zero idea how those wheels stand-up in a saltwater environment. My boat is listed in the post linked off one of the top posts.
I'll take pics of my "frame" b4 I shrink it tomorrow...

unless you know what you are doing, i would avoid the use of strapping and stick to 2x.
and don't be afraid of using plenty of cord to shore it all up.
