Nov 11: Been fishing the surf at Moses for the past few weeks, mostly at dusk or dawn for a few hours. Been skunked only once in the last 7 or 8 times out. Most bass are shorts, with keepers being sparse, and averaging about a half dozen to around 15 fish a trip. Lost count this morning at dawn. It opened up big time with medium to large blues mixing in with the bass. Looked like they were feeding on adult bunker. Usually the choice of lure is a tin with a teaser, or a shad or bucktail with a teaser (fly), with the results better on the teaser, although this morning was a different story. They took anything.
The beaches (field 2, 3, 4, 5) offer wide open spaces to practice fly casting in the surf and the fish usually are in pretty close especially at high water. Field 2 is only open to those whom have permits, and is usually where I start. But all the field areas have been producing.
I'm ****ed because I have to leave today on business for the rest of the week! Be back there this weekend for sure.
