With shipping its almost the price of two ipod shuffles! My ipod goes in a small pelican case mounted inside my console where it plugs into the stereo. Should be good unless I capsize...and then my ipod won't be my biggest concern!

Have you used this "coating"? Is it waterproof? The description says "weather resistant".

as fa as waterproof electronics, my gzone is nice and waterproof so far..one hard season living on top of the center console later, months of tugboat vibrations and all kinds of other abuse point towards the toughest phone out there.

ipods....just stuck them in the console with a pelican case or something.

its nearly impossible to waterproof something not mechanically waterproofed. and i would safe to say its impossible to waterproof anything for use in a saltwater enviroment for any length of time, especially electronics. think of that vhf radio that mounted on a t-top bracket. theyre ipx7 or whatever and only last so long.
