With the winds somewhat less than they have been, I "HAD" to get out there, fished Thursday, quite chillin' out !!!! But Schoolie stripers were all over the place. Landed and released @ 100 , some were nice foot ball size 22" -- 25" great fight on light tackle. Fingers are all split on tips from cold water ( HURTS JUST TO TYPE THIS )!!! Saw a couple of die-hards out there too, Here's some pics of the guys getting into the schoolie action. RELOCATOR was out with his dad getting double headers one after other, notice 2 schoolies on 1 rod, 1 on teaser and 1 on jig. Also saw FISHBLIND with a double header!

Are you fishing the west end of Long Island or is this in Jersey? Hoping these little guys didn't bypass the east end seeing as the arctic has arrived. Water temps are dropping fast...

Nice report and great pics!
Used to be that when the blitzes of small school fish occur late in the season, it signals the last waves of the migration. Long Island's south shore beaches are filled with small fish also. Great fun, and get it while it lasts!

I was out yesterday & there were plenty of bass 24 to 30 inches that were willing to hit poppers. They were at the southern ends of Ambrose & Sandy Hook Channels.
Left the flyrod home - that was a mistake --124-3

It was nice to get out on Thursday, especially since I haven't been out much this year. Thanks for the pic, Love2fish- sure was chilly! Rumor has it the trollers got into some good ones on Thurs. on the inside(I'm sure you saw them on the way in.) I darted out for a quick solo mission on Fri. to tap into some of those big girls, but no good. Winds don't look too bad this week- its about time!

Lov2fish, not sure if it's hardcore or just plain lunacy. Got in under the bridge 2 nights ago in leaky waders (definite lunacy) nothing doing at all and lasted 25 minutes. The water in the bay is cold. Wind is laid right down out here now so I may suck it up and head over to my drop off in Shinnecock tonight. May try out the surf this weekend. Heard about a whale off of Moriches. Let you know how I do.
