View Full Version : Ft. Myers Area
Work will take me to Ft. Myers in late January. I will pack a fly rod if there is something worth fishing for in that general area at that time. Am willing to hire a guide. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

There's plenty of fly fishing opportunities just south of Ft. Meyers in the Estero Bay area. Lots of cuts ( inlets) in and out of the bay. You can fish from the banks and wade in a few yards. I have fished in the bay for snook and redfish with Capt. Kevin Merritt. Good guy. Google him. Fly fishing the Naples area.

Don't know how much time you will have but if you can only get out for a little while just over the bridge down Estero Blvd ( Bonito Beach Causeway) is Lovers Key State park, Small parking area on the right just over the and can then walk and fish the shore line. Have caught Trout, Snook, Ladyfish and Spanish Macs just fishing the channel. Google earth it and take a look at it.
Might work for you in a pinch.
The Pelicans can be a pain in the Butt, they sit behind you and wait for you to hook up and will STEALyour fish.
