Spent two weeks last year on Eluthera and the fishing was good. PLanning this year to head up to Andros bvut unfortunaly I'm going solo and all the lodge are out of my price range as a solo angler. Did find on the net a place called Hanks. Has anyone stayed at Hanks Place? Price is right and it comes with a boat. Sure appreciate any comment or even better alternatives to Hanks Place. Do plan on hiring a guide for at least three days but the rest just knocking around on my own. Any issue with the local guides as far as using Hank's boats to access flats?

Will be making 3rd yearly trip back this March to Hanks Place. DIY flats fishing up fresh creek is easy. A couple of google earth maps, tank of gas and your on the way. I can't say enough about Hank's hospitality, convenience and the price. Did a 2 day/1 night guided trip to the Joulters last year and we are doing a 2 day1/ night guided trip to the West Side this year.
PM for additional info

I can probably second that motion, however, my maps would include a big X where you need to pay special attention to a certain reef in shallow water.

Yeah Hanks is fun. he has several boats just for rent but select (previously if you can) a good one - centre console rather than 10 hp with a tiller. nice mix of local and tourists. Have a blast!

I have a bonefishing trip booked May 31-June 6 fishing with Samuel Knowles on Long Island in the Bahamas. My partner had to cancel so I would be delighted to hook up with another angler. As it stands I'm going to have to pay the full rate as a solo angler. If anyone is interested check out Samuel Knowles bonefishing with a Google search. Sam Knowles has a very good reputation.
In December I fished Long Island for a couple of days. The fishing was quite good and is reported to be outstanding in early June.

look at the "cape cod outdoors" website. He arranges trips down to Andros every winter for a reasonable rate. Just go to that website and look for the bahamas info.

Hanks Place very good food and drink ( Hanky Pankys). Fresh Creek fun and lively town. No hassles when using Hank's boat.
Saw the biggest fish i have ever seen there below the bridge. Thought it was a tree at first. Was easily 7- 8 feet long, basking at the edge of the bridge flat in about 8 ft. water.

Love Hank's Place, I highly recommend it. Have a big plate of cracked conch for me, ( Smothered in hot sauce and lime juice.)
For a guide, I like Brad Mackey. Also had good luck with Simon Bain.
Can't spit around Fresh Creek without hitting a Bain or a Mackey.

Forgot to mention: A friend of mine who spends a month or more on Andros each year, just returned and said that due to the fact that the lodges are basically empty down there, the fish are getting real stupid again.
