I will be in St Petes Beach the 1st week of March. Would like to hire a guide for some inshore fishing.
Any advice is appreciated

I don't have any 1st hand experience in that area but if you go to either dogpile.com or google.com and key word search for "fishing st. pete" you'll find a ton of info.

While there is good fishing there at certain times of year, it is not that great at that time of year. If you are looking to do backcountry snook and reds, many of the serious guides that live in that area are driving south to Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound to fish. If that is the case you might want to consider that before you book someone from the place you are staying just because you are staying there. It is around 1:45 minutes drive south. If you are just looking to go catch ladyfish or trout with your kids, hire someone who works that area.

Call Dan Malzone, Tampa Bay Fly Fishing. (813) 831-4052 or http://www.flyfishingtampabay.com.
Dan will tell you what kind of fishing to expect during the time that you will be there. He is an excellent guide and you will enjoy your time with him.

If you are interested in flyfishing, you might try http://www.captpat.com/
I fished with him a few years ago. Unfortunately, a cold front roared through and our fishing was really tough, but I was happy with Pat.
