Looking for a chart on moon phases for Southwest Florida around 1,000 Islands and looking for folks to tell me it does or does not matter.
Tarpon is the goal. Hoping this is the year.

it sure does. we get the big tides, tarpon go on the feed, crabs start to flush out, exc. The full and the new moon tides in May and June can be the best fishing days of the whole year for tarpon here in SW florida. With the full moon we almost always get a weather shift which can mean strong winds for three days. This is the rub, get the fish before the winds pick up.

Absolutely ! Fishing around the inlets can be greatly effective by the moon-phase; just as Capt. mentioned

I am no expert on the area but I do fish there on occasion but 1 thing is for sure, tides are perhaps the most important thing no matter what when fishing flats/inlets for snook and tarpon or really anything...tides dictate MY fishing hands down here in Miami...there are some rules that always stand up IMO...tarpon/snook are nocturnal feeders and like a falling tide to pull food at them and the ambush spots are usually tidal pockets...again I must confess I am not a big tarpon guy but I do get at least a dozen or so every yr and its always tidal for me
