Spots in and around Long Key...

I'm staying in the campground at Long Key State Park for 3 days in April, and I've not yet had a chance to scout the area (other than by map and google earth). I'll have a canoe with a trolling motor on it, and I don't mind wading.

Anybody familiar enough with that specific area to know some gulfside or bayside spots that might be good places to start my search?

You should hear from a couple guides and others from that area with info. Another place to check is www.boatlessfishing.com (http://www.boatlessfishing.com). They specialize in helping shore and near shore fishermen new to Florida areas. Their reports are by counties too, so check out those near Long Key and don't hesitate to post your questions there, as you have here.
