hey guys,
been thinking about the summer more and more and i just cant wait. Im thinking of taking a trip in late april some time to fish ice out with the boat. Itll be a good start up before the striper season really starts for me down in mass. I went to the rangley lake region and fished that in june last year and loved it. Fishing those clear rivers and being up on the lake at 5 every morning was amazing. Im looking for some top water action in maine somewhere and i was wondering if anyone had any advice for rivers or lakes that i should look into. Also any info on what flies/lures i should bring for trolling/casting top water would be much appreciated! thanks and good luck on the ice fellahs

I'm planning a trip to Winni for ice out third week in April. I too fish the Rangeley Lakes (Mooseleuk) over the summer and will use the same techniques of trolling DB Smelts, other spoons, possible sewn bait, and streamers but just at a different depths. Instead of going 45' or more for salmon and trout I'll be staying within ten feet of surface or where ever the fish finder is painting them. Casting at river entries too.
