Thanks Slappy! I need to get it weighed for him. I think he's in the running for a state pin based on the looks of it. I just hope the freezer wont' suck out much weight.........

Nice fish. Most of the bass I get through the ice aren't that big :)

Thanks!
15" and a 12" girth at the widest point shows about 2.4# with a fish length/girth to weight conversion I found online. While I dont' think it's really that heavy it's certainly looking like it'll be big enough for a pin.

When I was a kid I caught one the same size. Back then the minimum for a pin was 14".

He will get a bronze pin for that and it will most likely take the youth division, the last couple years the big fish has been less than 2#. That will be one that he will remember forever!

Officially weighed yesterday at 1# 13 oz. So definitely gets the pin but falls just shy at this point in the year for the top spot in the youth division. Leading yellow perch as of today is 1# 14 oz. Probably lost a bit of weight being frozen for a day.............
Would have won the youth division in 2008 and 2005 and tied in 2006! Guess it's all about the timing!! He's still pretty pumped up though............and I think he may find a nicely mounted trophy wrapped up for his birthday this year....... :brow

Nice fish.
I used to chase perch quite a bit in the winter. I've found that if a body of water produced one like that , that there were likely more. maybe he can win that jr.div.yet.;) should still be plenty of ice.
