Buying a 22 foot CC. Sales manager recommending roller trailer because of loading ease. I've always used a bunk trailer on smaller boats. I will be trailering a lot in the northeast. What do you think? Thanks!

I have used both and someplaces and tides I have used the rollers to get the boat where I wanted that IMHO bunks would be a pain on my boat anyway.

Unless it is required by the mfg of the boat to have rollers - I'd say bunks.

Rollers need continued maintenance - bunks don't.

As far as launching & retrieving, never had a problem with a 26' SeaPro and bunks with slicks at any tide.

Ask Riptide - he has bunks for his Contender and trailers daily

Bunk and thats no bunk!

There has been a variety of discussions on this exact subject, looking at the score I would say bunk wins 55 to 45 of responders, HOWEVER are you going to store your boat, over the winter or for long periods of time? If so you should go bunk- it will support your hull better.

Bunks are best--totally easy to launch/load and durability is much better than rollers.

All depends on where you launch. No way I could get away with a bunk trailer on my 25' CC at certain ramps (gloucester low tide, Rowley low/high tide). No need for guide-ons, drive the boat on, let it roll off. Even my old 15' CC was on a roller and I loved it.

Never had a problem with my 20' boat on a float on style bunk trailer at the Parker River, Rowley River, Saco River, Wells Harbor, Lynn Harbor, Gloucester High School, Green Pond in Falmouth, etc.

You just need to dunk the trailer deep at shallow ramps. Most of these style of trailers have an extended tongue to facilitate that.

I personally like (and have ) bunks BUT there are times and places you WILL have a bitch of time unloading. Some of the ramps I use at low tide are just not deep enough to sink it enough. That said go with bunks "if" you can....
