Fished the ice today at a Central Mass UDL (Lunenburg) with my 9 year old son and he had a grand slam. Pickerel, Crappie, Perch and Large Mouths. We went through 48 shiners in 4 hours fishing just 10 tip ups. If it wasn't so windy it would have been the perfect day. Slick out there but still a footof ice

The bass were all small but real healthy looking, biggest probably 2 pounds but the Calico's were huge and anyway, using 48 shiners in 4 hours with about 30 fish landed was a pretty good way to spend a saturday, especially with my little guy. A buddy of mine took a 9 pound bass out of this lake 2 yearsago.

What's up with the kids hat. Did they run out of Pats gear before you got to the store.
PS Looks like a great day on the ice-- action = fun no matter how old or young you are.

Dude, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know if you have kids but they (kinda like dogs) don't always do what you want them to. I'm a huge Pats fan and season tix holder. I've taken my son to games. We watch every game together when they're on the road and you see how he repays my generosity and friendship. His favorite team is the Texans and he gave me a J-E-T-S jets jets jets keychain for my birthday. I'm afraid I'm going to have to try to beat it out of him soon enough. At least he still likes to fish with me so he's not all bad
