I'm planning on getting rid of my 12 foot tin boat this spring. It's been sitting since I bought my center console three years ago and I don't really see the point in keeping it. My question/concern is that I bought it from a friend of a friend years ago in NJ, he didn't have a proper title and had never registered it, and I checked with the registry when I moved to MA oh so long ago and they told me registration was optional for 12 foot or less so I didn't bother. I will get rid of it with the trailer (which is titled) but I'm wondering if I'm going to run into any issues selling it without a title? Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
chris

12' and under no title required. What are you looking to get for the boat? What is the motor rating?
Where can the boat be looked at? or post a picture.
I'm in the market for a duck/clamming boat.

I haven't figured out all the details yet. It's one of the "not so deep V" vintage Sears models. I'm planning on selling it with the trolling motor, fish finder, down rigger and trailer. I used to troll for trout in the few big lakes in NJ with it way back. I'll have to check the plate & take a picture tomorrow to tell you what motor size it can take.
Thanks for the info.

I was just out looking at The Guppy (I have it locked up at work) and it looks like the HP capacity is 10, but I couldn't see the Coast Gaurd plate too clearly, it's a little faded and the light wasn't that great for an old guy. I will be giving the craft and trailer a good cleaning, lube and some general TLC in a few weeks when I drag it home, but here's a couple of "before" shots.

12' and under no title required.
Just to be clear, it is worded "Boats 14' and over require a title." So a 13'8" hull would not need one - I believe Grumman used to make one like this, as did others.
