I recently moved to Mass and am living in Shrewsbury. I am looking for a place close to home where I can catch fish and saw North Brook and Cold Harbor Brook (both close to me) on the state stocking list. Any information anyone could provide would be appreciated.
You need to check the brooks they actually stock each year; it's not by any means all the ones on the list. They update it each week or so after they stock, so check the web site often.
Near Shrewsbury, you have a number of other options. There's Quinsigamond, Wachusett, Chauncy, A1, the Assabet River, and the Quinsigamond River, all of which have fish of various types. You should do some internet searching on what each one has. I would warn against spending too much time at Wachusett; there are big fish in it, but the amount of time per fish there is quite significant unless you know the area and the right presentations.

Thanks for the info. I caught quite a few lakers at Wachusett bumping kastmasters along the bottom. I walked the river near the Yellick Conservation Area looks good for trout anyone have any luck there.
