View Full Version : First Tarpon on fly jumped in Tampa Bay

Yes...believe it! It is early, but with the recent warming some of the resident tarpon are moving around. This past week, one of our guides jumped a 125 lb fish and then the next day got another one at about 115 lbs.

The snook fishing is also turning on as the fish are out sunning themselves and charging flies! This morning on the way to work, I stopped and hit a flat for an hour. The tide was wrong for the reds, but one laid up snook was just fine for me! It is easy to work all day with a smile when you start the morning with a snook.

We have also had a great winter of redfishing in gin clear water and it does not look as if that is going to slow down either.
