Following up with a trip report from an earlier thread I started with questions I had on Grand Cayman.
Went out with Capt. Ronald eBanks (really the only fly guy on the Island). Picked up my better half and myself up at the hotel at 6:30 a.m. After a couple of hours out, had two bones in the boat (4 and 7 lbs.) and missed shots on another bone and a group of permit (whatever Reeltimer that said, "practice casting in the wind" was absolutely correct). My gal used Ronald's spinning gear, I used my own fly tackle and flys. If someone plans to use his spin gear, be sure to bring your own (she sure missed her Loomis and Shimano bass rig). His fly tackle was quality and in good order but spinning stuff was not. So all in all, a very satisfying trip. Topped off the vaca with a 6 lbs. permit on a do it yourself effort on an isolated sandy beach that happened to have flats. Very good fun.
Thanks for the tips and feedback on my previous question post.
