anyone have any positive experience/recommendation with NY/NJ kayak fishing guides? considering that route for an early summer trip, but just moved to nyc so i'm lost as to what locations to pursue
I think there is a guy who posts here named Stan who is a kayak guide in the Long Island area. Judging from his reports, he seems to do quite well.

Stan in NY
In CT try Roland St Denis--he has a website Yakdawgs, you can get all the info from there.
Also check out the kayak fishing tourney at Jamaica Bay. Great area and a chance to learn from locals, I wouldn't be surprised if you could rent a yak for that. Captain kayak in sayville puts on the tourney.

JGH & Slappy, thank you for mentioning my name!!!
Bigcamel33, I'm sorry to say I'm booked for the year unless I get some cancellations. I will recommend you try to contact NYS Guide John Fischer. I sent you a PM with his contact information.
Also the Salty Flyrodders of New York are doing some kayak fishing trips this year.
