Salty's Conclave XLII

Join us for the 42nd Annual Salty Flyrodders Conclave

June 12, 13 & 14 2009 in Greenport, NY!!!

This is the largest event of our club for the calendar year. This event dates back to the founding year of our club and (at that time) was conducted as the Shelter Island Weakfish tournament. These days, the primary species we target is Striped Bass (though several other species are commonly caught) and the location is more accessible in Greenport, NY at the Soundview Inn hotel (http://www.soundviewinn.com). Last year over 150 fish were caught and landed by 40 anglers. Great times were had by all on and off the water. The event is open to anglers of all skill levels and the Saturday program lead by Ed Mitchell is a tremendous learning opportunity for everyone. Experienced anglers traditionally pair with folks new to the club and/or area we're fishing. The hospitality suite (open 24 hours a day with refreshments) is a great place to learn where the fish are and to tie a pattern or two for a days/nights fishing. The accommodations at the Soundview Inn are superlative and one club member won our friendly club tournament right behind the hotel! We hope you will join us for this great event. This year’s featured guest is Ed Mitchell

Ed is one of the most well know saltwater fly rodders along the Atlantic coast. He has written three books: Fly
Rodding the Coast, Fly Fishing the Saltwater Shoreline, and Fly Rodding Estuaries. Ed has written for all the
major angling magazines and he is a contributing editor to Fly Fishing in Salt Waters. Spend time with Ed on
the beach learning how to read the waters, casting, and tying. Ed is the complete package; not only is he
entertaining, he is an informative presenter, author, fly tier, and caster. Check Ed’s site at
http://www.flyroddingthecoast.com/. This will be the 42nd consecutive Conclave presented by the Salty
Flyrodders of NY.
