Was out on the flats of eastern Long Island last friday (5/15) with Jim Levison and my son home from college. Saw a significant amount of sandeels. Much larger size than usual for this time of year.
Also saw plenty of bass, though they were quite spooky because there was virtually no wind. Only brought 2 fish to the boat, but one was 39 inches, a real beast in skinny water.
Just felt good to enjoy a really beautiful day on the water, after what has been a very tough year.
